10 years ago, in the throes of my new role as mother, this series was inspired by my teeny, tiny babes. Like a kid with a new box of crayons, I began to play. Layer after layer, each painting became a sort of prayerful meditation. There were strong parallels between the patience cultivated from endless cycles of diaper changing, laundry and feeding, as with painting circle after circle on canvas.
There is beauty in repetition. There is beauty in the mundane.
Applying the same meditation practices to motherhood that I was actively implementing as an artist opened the door to embracing and celebrating the beauty in all repetitive tasks. Light and color 'broke through' and I began to see the world through the creative lens of my children.
I'm grateful to have you with me on this journey. I can't wait to send these prints out into the world and into your home.
